So here in Utah, we celebrate the founding of our state on the 24th of July. It's usually celebrated much like the 4th, with Parades, games, fireworks, etc. This year we celebrated by attending the free breakfast at the park in town and then going to Walmart to grocery shop. Lots of fun I know. But we did do some fireworks with the kids that night and Ricky has not changed his mind about how he feels about fireworks. He is still very afraid of them. Except for sparklers. He thinks they are great and thinks he needs to hold them. By the sparkly part. It was fun trying to keep them away from him.
We did more of a celebration today, the 25th. Rick cooked us carne asada and made guacamole. He set up the slip n slide that Nana Katie bought for the kids. Kayla could not get the hang of it. She would run and just before she hit the slip n slide she would hit her knees and then flop over onto her tummy. The big problem being that her knees were still on the grass. So she would lay there a bit and pretty soon Daddy would come along and push her down the length of the slide and she would make a big splash in the pool at the end. How fun is that? Ricky did
not like the slide. Rick took him down the slid
e the same way as he did Kayla, but it was not fun for him. He got so cold in his wet clothes that we took them off and let him run around naked for a while. He loved that. He decided it was more fun to push the play lawn mower around than play on the slip n slide. I took a few strategically posed pictures of this because it was so cute.
The kids then came in and took a bath and Kayla put on her new nightshirt, which is really just a larger t-shirt but it looked so cute I had to get it for her. And of course, I had to include a picture here. One of her favorite things to do lately is to tell me everything her brother did that she thinks he'll be in trouble for. My little Cindy Brady.
So that's our news for now! Stay tuned for more.....it's always coming.

The slip 'n slide looks like fun. I wonder if Tay could figure it out - probably not :)
